The Court Interpreter Certification Board of the Florida Supreme Court is vital in overseeing the certification and regulation of court interpreters. They help the members of our community with limited English proficiency receive and provide accurate testimony in their court proceedings. Recently, the board issued AOSC21-18 announcing their newest appointments to the board and we are proud to announce that Judge Luis Calderon has been chosen as an appointee.

Judge Calderon has been a judge with the Ninth Circuit since 2017, working in the civil and criminal divisions of Orange County and the Unified Family Court of Osceola. He also serves as the circuit’s interpreter judge where he acts as a liaison for court interpreters. Judge Calderon’s work as interpreter judge has been vital in navigating how the court offers interpretation services with virtual proceedings. wealth of knowledge and expertise make him a perfect fit for the Court Interpreter Certification Board.
