Position description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the established civil differentiated case management operations within the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court and ensuring their continued effectiveness through process evaluation and improvement. This position emphasizes efficiency, consistency, and quality in the management of cases while ensuring the team’s compliance with applicable Administrative Orders and Rules.
The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Case Management and will supervise a diverse team of civil case managers, coordinators and substitute Judicial Assistants across multiple divisions. The position is responsible for assigning workload, monitoring individual and team performance, conducting evaluations, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and service delivery. Additional duties include guiding staff in case management procedures, ensuring compliance with administrative standards, coordinating the preparation of orders and distribution of signed orders through Florida’s e-filing portal, and assigning substitute Judicial Assistants to temporary duty ensuring appropriate coverage for the judiciary.
This role requires regular interaction with Judges, judicial assistants, administrative staff, attorneys, and litigants to facilitate case progress and maintain timely communication regarding case-related matters. The coordinator will analyze workflow data, prepare performance reports, and collaborate with management to identify areas for procedural improvement within the civil divisions. The position is headquartered in Orlando with regular work at the Jon B. Morgan Courthouse in Kissimmee. Reliable transportation is required.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy, be self-motivated and can work both independently and in a team setting. Knowledge of civil case proceedings, procedures and court rules is desired. A bachelor’s degree in fields such as public or business administration, social work, criminology, or law, with at least three years of relevant professional experience is preferred.
