Position description

The Drug Court Manager is responsible for the day to day management and operations of Orange County Adult Drug Court Programs and also oversees the Orange County Family Dependency Drug Court Program. This position is responsible for various administrative functions, including, but not limited to; case management, identifying and implementing program improvements, assisting in the development of grant proposals, contracts and MOUs, monitoring budgets, reviewing invoices and developing relationships in the community in support of the courts’ efforts. The position works directly with the Circuit Problem Solving Court Manager, Family Dependency Drug Court Coordinator and Problem Solving Court Judge in supporting long term goals and objectives for each court. The position supervises and evaluates the Family Dependency Drug Court Coordinator as well as assigned case management staff and is directly involved in all personnel decisions, training, work assignments, disciplinary actions and terminations. The position must exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated, have the ability to plan, organize, and work under pressure while coordinating work assignments in order to meet demanding deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in program management or implementation; grant reporting, public speaking, and preparation of reports and manuals.

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Court Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology or a closely related field (graduate degree in related field preferred). The ideal candidate will also have at least (3) years of experience in the criminal justice environment, particularly within the court environment, or any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. This is a State funded position with benefits.
