Position description

The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court is accepting applications for the position of Computer Analyst, a frontline technology support role within Court Administration under the supervision of the Technology Support Manager. This position provides direct technical support to judges, judicial assistants, and court administration staff across the Orange County Courthouse and associated facilities. 

The Computer Analyst ensures reliable, secure, and responsive technology services by supporting end-user computing environments, court-specific applications, and collaboration technologies. This role requires strong customer service skills, solid troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to supporting mission-critical judicial operations. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Provide day-to-day technical support for judges, judicial assistants, and court staff, including hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 

• Administer and support user accounts and devices within Active Directory, including account provisioning, password resets, and basic group membership management. 

• Install, configure, and support desktop and laptop computers, tablets, scanners, printers, mobile devices, copiers, and related peripherals. 

• Support Windows workstations and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office apps. 

• Troubleshoot network connectivity, VPN access, authentication issues, and video conferencing platforms used for court operations. 

• Provide support for specialized court and justice-related applications, learning new systems as required. 

• Monitor and maintain endpoint health through routine checks, updates, and preventative maintenance. 

• Manage and support digital signage platforms used across the court facility. 

• Respond to and resolve user support requests via phone, email, ticketing systems, and in-person assistance. 

• Document support activities, resolutions, and procedures in accordance with IT service management practices. 

• Provide on-site support at outlying court facilities as needed, with occasional after-hours or on-call support. 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred. 

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in an end-user or desktop support role. 

• Demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based environments and Microsoft productivity platforms. Technical Skills 

• Working knowledge of Active Directory user and device management. 

• Experience supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, and common desktop applications. 

• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, networking, VPN, and authentication issues. 

• Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and courtroom collaboration technologies. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across multiple technology platforms. 

Certifications (Preferred) 

• CompTIA A+ 

• CompTIA Network+ 

Professional Competencies 

• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor when working with judges and court staff. 

• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment. 

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 

• Willingness to learn new technologies and grow within the role.
