It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of retired Judge Joseph P. Baker. Judge Baker was a graduate of Swarthmore College before attending the University of Michigan for his juris doctor. After graduating in 1962, he returned to Orlando, where he practiced law for 15 years before being appointed as a circuit judge at the Ninth Circuit.
During his 25 years on the bench, he served the citizens of Orange County in various divisions, and he was known for his dedication to public service. He was a dear friend and colleague to many and his memory will not be forgotten in these halls.
