Year after year, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) presents their Jurist of the Year award to a jurist who has consistently, fearlessly, and impartially promoted the rule of law in their work. This award honors and recognizes a jurist who shows considerable knowledge in their field, respect for the equal rights of all who come before them, and an outstanding dedication to service. FAWL has named the Honorable Lisa T. Munyon as the 2021 Jurist of the Year.
This award comes not long after Judge Munyon received the James G. Glazebrook Memorial Bar Service Award for her service to and support of the legal profession and the Legal Aid Society. Receiving both awards demonstrates Judge Munyon’s respect for the law and professionalism in her craft as she gears up to take the position of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court’s first female Chief Judge in July.
FAWL’s Jurist of the Year award will be presented to Judge Munyon virtually during the organization’s annual meeting on Tuesday, June 22nd at 6:00 PM. In honor of being chosen as this year’s recipient, Judge Munyon will also speak at the event about this recognition.
Congratulations Judge Munyon! FAWL has chosen well in presenting you with this award!
