The Florida Supreme Court released administrative order AOSC20-28, creating the Court Continuity Workgroup, a 17-member task force meant to find ways for the courts to operate as fully as possible during each stage of the pandemic.
Chief Justice Charles Canady selected Ninth Circuit Judge Lisa Munyon to chair this workgroup. As chair, she will guide these esteemed law professionals from across the state in their mission to examine the current status of court proceedings, propose methods of resolving them with remote technology, find solutions for legal issues, implementation challenges and costs, recommend the priority in which proceedings will resume, and more. They will also consult with other stakeholders and public health experts to determine the best way to implement a plan for a staged return to full court operations.
