Judge Lisa Munyon appointed to chair FCTC

Judge Lisa T. Munyon was reappointed Chair of the Florida Court Technology Commission (FCTC) through June 30, 2020. Tasked with managing and directing the use of technology within Florida’s judicial branch, the FCTC was re-established in 2010 by Florida Supreme Court administrative order. Judge Munyon has chaired the Commission since mid-2012.

The Commission has been instrumental in improving data exchanges and streamlining integration processes with the clerks of court and other justice system stakeholders, a key goal of the judicial branch’s Long-Range Strategic Plan. With increased access to reliable and updated information, the Commission hopes to bolster public trust and confidence in the judicial branch. The FCTC continues to research ways to expand self-service options for court users and automate court processes, thereby providing the public with increased access to the courts.

Judge Munyon’s legal career spans over 30 years. A University of Florida graduate, she served as a 9th Circuit assistant state attorney for ten years before going into private practice. She was appointed to the Circuit bench in 2003 and has been an administrative judge in the Criminal, Civil, and Domestic divisions.
