Position description
The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court is accepting applications for the position of Director of Community Relations, an Assistant Director position within Court Administration under the supervision of the Director of Court Services. The Court Services Department supports Due Process Programs (Court Reporting, Court Interpreting, and Jury Services) and Communications. This leadership opportunity offers a meaningful role in advancing court administration, policy development, and program coordination that benefits both the judicial system and the community it serves.
This position oversees staff circuit-wide within the Court Reporting, Court Interpreting, and Jury Services programs, fostering excellence, accountability, and collaboration. Core responsibilities include developing and executing strategic and operational plans; ensuring compliance with court standards, policies, and applicable laws; and managing fiscal and administrative functions such as budgeting, contracting, and invoicing for Due Process programs.
The role directs circuit-wide Due Process operations, including workflow coordination, scheduling, and support for judges, staff, and court users. It also evaluates program performance to ensure effectiveness and alignment with court policy, providing regular updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
The position builds and maintains strong relationships with judges, attorneys, justice partners, and community stakeholders to enhance trust, accessibility, and service quality. At the discretion of the Director of Court Services, the Assistant Director may also assist with public outreach efforts and initiatives that encourage civic engagement and community awareness of court services.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, social work, criminology, law, or a closely related field (master’s degree preferred). At least five years of progressively responsible experience in a professional setting, including a minimum of three years in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing a department with a large team.
