Magistrate Department/Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer Program
Provide a variety of secretarial and administrative support to the Magistrate Department and the Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer Program. Must exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated but also able to work closely with others. Good computer and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to quickly acquire proficiency with a variety of computer programs, including clerk case management system. Superior organization skills are required. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with others, including judges, coworkers, government officials, law enforcement, clerks’ office and the public. Responsible for office tasks of high responsibility. Effective use of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation is imperative. This position is located at the Orange County Courthouse.
One year of experience in business administration, office skills, or a related field. Associate’s Degree or additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis. State funded OPS (Other Personal Services) $13.37/hr. OPS/Variable hour employees may be eligible for insurance coverage. No holiday pay, sick, or vacation time accrued. Full time position up to 40 hours per week except for holiday weeks. Position is temporary in nature but may continue to be extended based upon funding. Open until filled.
